Colfax Elementary
Colfax’sWaste Assessment
Colfax students started the year out strong by performing their very own Waste Assessment. See how they did it in a step-by-step process, easy for any school to do.
In the first year of the program, Colfax students and teachers plan to:
·
Start recycling paper, cardboard, cans & bottles
Stock the faculty room with reusable cups, plates, and cutlery for staff lunches. (Want to help?)
Launch a double-sided copying campaign for both students and teachers to use both sides of the page.
To make sure everyone knows about the new program, a new student eco club will be formed, along with the following activities:
The students will introduce the program to faculty at a faculty meeting.
A team of volunteer students will be responsible for emptying the classroom recycling bins each week.
The students will take a field trip to a local recycling facility.
